“The Reep inspector made quick work of the inspection. The only thing actually to be done was the blower door test, since our house is brand new and super well insulated.”

Bert and Heidi shared their exciting journey with us when installing some solar panels onto their home! They found out about our EnerGuide Home Energy Evaluation program through word of mouth. Bert and Heidi were inspired by to get an energy evaluation through the enticing Greener Homes rebates, that gave them the opportunity to upgrade their homes without worrying too much about the costs. Once they decided to pursue their sustainable home journey, our advisors were eager and ready to assist them as quickly as possible.

Solar Panels

Increase energy independence.

In the end, their new house is net zero, generating substantially more energy from their PV panels than they use, including heating and cooling. They’ve also noted that their utility bills are practically zero, apart from water and sewer. These improvements to their home, and how even one upgrade can make a huge difference on your home’s energy efficiency.

The image shows a two-story house with a blue metal roof and beige siding. The roof is equipped with solar panels that cover the entire top section. The house has multiple large rectangular windows, two on the upper floor and two on the lower floor. A white door with a clear glass pane is located on the right side of the ground floor, flanked by outdoor light fixtures. There are a few small shrubs planted in front of the house. The sky above is bright with scattered clouds, and the sun casts a clear light on the scene.

Bert and Heidi have voiced their appreciation for the rebate program. They were already thinking about creating a net-zero home, and the help from the program made it that much easier for them to get started.

Bert and Heidi stress that “insulation and airtightness improvements are key” to achieving energy efficiency. High-quality insulation helps keep warmth in during winter and the cold out during summer, reducing the need for constant heating or cooling. At the same time, airtightness ensures there are no gaps or leaks where air can escape, which maximizes the effectiveness of insulation. Together, these upgrades lower energy use, reduce bills, and create a more comfortable living space. Investing in quality insulation and airtight sealing can make a big difference in the overall performance of your home.

The person is bent over, adjusting a pipe connected to a large metallic device in a basement environment. The basement walls are made of aged bricks with white and reddish staining. The metallic device is a boiler with visible pipes and ductwork extending upwards. The device is labeled "VIESSMANN VITOCAS 050" on its front panel. There are copper pipes running along the wall and connected to the boiler, with some red tags hanging from them.

Reep Green Solutions’ Home EnerGuide Evaluation is one of the best options in town to maximize your rebates for many of your home energy upgrades.

Our Registered Energy Advisors will examine your house from basement to attic to assess its energy use and building envelope. You will receive a report that will contain a number of prioritized recommendations to improve your home’s energy efficiency. This will help fix high energy bills, air leaks and drafts, poor insulation of windows and doors, and address heating/cooling problems. The evaluation may also identify issues such as dampness, mould/mold or mildew in your home, which could lead to health problems.

We have a licensed service provider agreement with Green Communities Canada. They are licensed by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) to use the EnerGuide Rating System, Canada’s advanced system to rate home energy consumption, provide recommendations customized for your home and support you through any incentive programs.
